Lions, Tigers, and BEARS! Oh, My!

Glenn Turner (left) from Sevierville Sunrise Rotary, welcomes Resource Officer Aubrey Deck (right) from Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency to the morning meeting of Sunrise Rotary.   Officer Deck presented a program on the issues with wild bears in Sevier County.   He emphasized the need for educating county residents and visitors to respect the habitat and habits of bears.  Many people forget that bears are wild animals and feeding bears can cause problems for the animals, as well as, humans. 

Shrinking the World

Tom Cole (left) from Volunteers For China and representing Amity Foundation is welcomed to Sevierville Sunrise Rotary by Rotarian Pat White (right).  Cole used a media presentation to showcase the parts of China where his team had taught English.  Amity Foundation sponsors a summer English Program that using English-speaking volunteers to teach English to Chinese teachers.  Cole emphasized that the one-month teaching assignment fostered ‘building relationships and understanding of other cultures’. 

I Love Sevierville Luncheon

Our annual I Love Sevierville Luncheon is less than a month away!

By working really hard and taking all aspects of the fundraiser, we are poised to make more money than last year.  Remember, this fundraiser is for our scholarship fund.
